Buen Canto
We come together in an open circle to sing songs of prayer and intention of various lineages and languages.
Buen Canto was started on December 30th of 2024.
The circle was inspired long before but was activated at this time by a message received during a visit by an elder– Wally –of the Anishinaabe people in Manitoba, Canada.
It was birthed in Ritual shop of Mullumbimby after initial conversations and agreements between Raimundas “Rain” Kazlauskas and Lisa Mei Hannon-Tan.
It has been designed and anchored by Rain in alliance with his Eagle Sky life mission and with integrations of his walk with the lineages of the Red Path, Vision Quest, Daime, and Ciranda and with his Lithuanian cultural roots.
It is a community effort to cultivate culture and bring more song, dance, and joy to our paths!
Our circle
Our ritual
This is a space to join in light-heartedness and joy along with focus and intention. It is a continuing exploration and refinement of how to hold a safe and crystalline community space that allows our natural being and reverence to flow.
We set an intention for each circle. A focus for our coming together.
Generally we arrive a bit before the start time with offerings of flowers or other special items to design a central altar together in line with our intention.
A song leader (Rain and others) will hold the circle and introduce the main songs for our evening.
We also open for offerings from those attending the circle. These are at times spontaneous and at times prepared and pre-organized.
Songs are always offered in the best way that we can facilitate others to join in (printed text, call-and-response, teaching words) and we do our best to honor and acknowledge the original designs of the songs. Variations should be mentioned for the group’s knowledge.
We also often open to and encourage sharings of prayer, story, laughter, and silence as they arise naturally.
We close circle together and go on with this love!
We ask any visitor to take a moment and check in with our sign-in sheet and donation box to feel into an authentic contribution to this work.
Thank you for your support!
